Sigtuna Municipality seeks a Unit Manager to lead their road maintenance and construction operations. The unit has 17 staff including construction workers and supervisors. This is a permanent position reporting to the head of the technical department, involving responsibility for operations, personnel, and budget. The role requires close, hands-on leadership with winter and on-call duty responsibilities. The municipality is located near Stockholm, featuring a mix of rural areas, small towns, and an international airport.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage 17 staff including construction workers and supervisors
- Ensure daily operations comply with political decisions, legislation, and set goals
- Oversee winter road maintenance and participate in on-call duty rotations
Requirements
- Several years of formal managerial experience with staff and budget responsibility in technical operations, road operations, or construction
- Experience in municipal road and traffic facility maintenance or as a supplier to municipalities
- Experience with winter road maintenance and winter preparedness
- Valid B driver's license
- Good Swedish written and verbal communication skills
