Hallstahammar Municipality is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead and develop its accounting function within a 13-person finance department. The role combines strategic leadership and hands-on accounting, overseeing financial systems and leading the implementation of a new system. You will also manage five employees and present financial matters to the municipal board.
Responsibilities
- Lead accounting, financial monitoring, reporting, internal control, and consolidation for the municipality and municipal board.
- Manage the finance system, oversee its new implementation, and develop the municipality’s e-commerce processes.
- Lead five staff, liaise with auditors and political decision-makers, and handle matters involving procurement, investments, and local supply.
Requirements
- University or college degree in economics
- Substantial experience with municipal accounting
- Strong financial systems knowledge
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage employees
- Understanding of politically governed municipal organisations
- Confidence presenting financial reports to elected representatives
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
